Terror-Track-Doll

Terror Track Doll 369
I can't resist a good bash
Derby Number:
#369
Rebel Roses Travel Team
How long have you been skating?:
I made my debut on skates at the Rag Doll taster session, February 2011. This definitely involved some confusion about how to get from sitting on the floor to standing on my feet.
What does your derby name mean to you?:
Dino love.
What's your best move/technique?:
Falling. On my face. All the time... I don't think it can really be called a move/techinique, but probably my most frequently used. My dream move is probably some sort of swooshing wall take out manoeuvre. One day I will live the dream.
What's your favourite roller derby anthem/tunes to skate to?:
I've not had enough roller disco in my life to answer this question.
Favourite roller derby quote?:
"Don't get sucked off" (and gazelled, of course)
Who is your Derby Crush?:
Cindi Launch'er <3
Any advice for a Ragdoll?:
Don't judge yourself against anyone else. Only look at yourself and how far you've come from the beginning. You'll be doing things you never dreamt you could do at when you started skating. Push yourself at every opportunity and you'll go far.
What are you looking forward to in the 2012 season?:
Having fun with the Whip-It's =)
Your Derby Story:

I started skating when I started with LRD.

I couldn’t stand up. Literally couldn’t stand up. I remember sitting on the floor outside the sports hall and wondering how to get up without having a “Bambi on ice” moment ending up face down, my limbs having all gone in different directions. So achievement number 1? Standing up.

At the beginning, would I ever have thought that in 6 months time I’d be rostered for my first bout? No way! So achievement number... ? I don’t know what number. Too many achievements in such a short space of time.

That’s a big part of why I love derby. Every session you’re challenged and pushed and better yourself. Through the bruises and the sweaty pads emerges at the end of every session, a better skater. And it’s great seeing the rest of the league develop, as individuals and together.

And another reason I love it? Yep, cheesy corny league love. I love my league. Awesome people and awesome derby. Couldn’t ask for anymore.

I can’t write anymore right now, because I have to go get ready for training...

So yes, derby has taken over my life.
