Your Derby Story:

I've been known to be a little competitive at times and I've always been one to try lots of different sports. I did a rock climbing course, had golf lessons, played cricket, was a cox and then a rower, I play hockey, run half marathons, do duathlons but I thought it was time I try something even more challenging. I stumbled across LRD on the internet and thought it looked interesting, then once my friend Jana and I had seen Whip It I saw that LRD had just had a fresh meat session, gutted that I'd missed it I emailed anyway and found out that there was one the next week, and better still, it was near my house. So we went along and I loved it! Jana, unfortunately didn't like going fast or being on wheels so I joined by myself. I didn't need to worry though, I was taken under the wing of some of the most awesome people I have ever met.

A few months later there I was on the jam line at the Great Yorkshire Showdown for my first bout. The adrenaline, the atmosphere and hearing my sister shouting my name was the best feeling ever and was the start of an amazing day.

In the future I know I'm going to see LRD do amazing things and I look forward to being there doing my part.
